The Rocky Horror Picture Show

The Rocky Horror Picture Show was released in 1975, and it was directed by Jim Sharman. The screenplay and lyrics were both written by Richard O'Brien. This film marks Tim Curry's debut into the movie industry as Dr. Frank N. Furter, a "sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania." This musical parody of Frankenstein also features a young Susan Sarandon. When a young couple gets a flat tire, they happen upon a nearby castle to use the phone. They then discover the occupants of the castle are celebrating the Annual Transylvania Convention. Horror and hilarity ensue. Curry's performance is superb! This flick became a midnight movie in 1977, in which the audience dressed in costume and participated in the film. It became the most successful midnight movie of all time. Let's do the Time Warp again!!!!

Young Frankenstein

Young Frankenstein was written and directed by Mel Brooks in 1974. It is a parody of Mary W. Shelley's novel, "Frankenstein." The musical score was the work of John Morris, which includes songs such as "Puttin' on the Ritz" and "Transylvanian Rhapsody." The cast includes Gene Wilder, Teri Garr, Madeline Kahn, Chloris Leachman, Marty Feldman, Peter Boyle and Gene Hackman, among others. This film is sure to crack you up, and it's another one of my all time favorites!
