A Nightmare on Elm Street was directed by Wes Craven and released in 1984. It stars Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger, who begins haunting teenage kids in their dreams. If he kills you in your dreams, you die in real life. Featuring Johnny Depp in his first feature film, this one is a cult classic. The effects are ridiculously awesome, especially for the time period, and Krueger is one scary son of a bitch. Those claws are bound to give you nightmares!

From Hell originated from a graphic novel of the same name written by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell. This 2001 thriller, starring Johnny Depp and Heather Graham, depicts a local dectective investigating the recent killing spree credited to Jack the Ripper. Complete with Johhny Depp chasing the dragon, absinthe, and drop dead prostitutes, From Hell aims to please.

The Astronaut's Wife

This 1999 flick featuring Johnny Depp and Charlize Theron, depicts a NASA Astronaut who has a bit of trouble readjusting to life on Earth after a space mission gone awry. Depp and Theron have smokin' hot chemistry together as a married couple, and their performances are equally phenomenal. The film is beautifully riveting and the horror arises from the movie's subtleties.
