Das Cabinet des Doktor Caligari (The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari) is a silent, German Expressionist film directed by Robert Wiene. It premiered in Berlin, Germany on February 26th, 1920. This full length flick is beautifully filmed in black and white with a black and white set that focuses on the German Expressionistic Style of that period. The plot is based upon a traveling side show, The Somnabulist, which is managed by Dr. Caligari. Turns out the Somnabulist is more than just your average sleep walker.
