Mommie Dearest

Mommie Dearest was a memoir written by Christina Crawford, Joan Crawford's adopted daughter, in 1978. Joan Crawford's character was later played by Faye Dunaway in the film adaptation released in 1981. This is a true story that is utterly horrifying. The young Christina was taken in by Crawford, a control freak actress, who abused the young girl on a regular basis. This is one of the scariest movies for me, because the truth is always stranger than fiction. Check out this cult classic, if you haven't already.
